Dr Bansal seeks to provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary health care approach, specifically for the ageing population on the Gold Coast addressing all aspects of Geriatric Medicine and also offering Rehabilitation at the Robina Private Hospital. He endeavours to provide holistic care to his older patients with an emphasis on open and effective communication with patients and their families to enhance collaborative decision making and improve outcomes.

Dr Bansal has special interest in managing the non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease and Parkinson’s Disease dementia in collaboration with Neurologists. He has authored scientific papers on the “Behavioural disturbances in Alzheimer’s Disease” and “Impact of socioeconomic factors on frailty” and presented these at International conferences.

Dr Bansal provides specialist Geriatric Medicine care for patients in rural and remote locations via Telehealth and for Indigenous people in South east Qld through different channels.

Dr Bansal is an active member of the Australasia and New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM), World Stroke Society(WSO), International Movement Disorders Society (MDS) and MDSANZ (Movement Disorder society of Australasia and New Zealand).

Dr Rohit Bansal’s Details


Dr Rohit Bansal is a Consultant Geriatrician and Rehabilitation Physician. He has joined hands with QGMG with the aim of providing easier access to Specialist Geriatric care on the Gold Coast.


His career in clinical medicine spans over 15 years following his graduation in 2002, in India. He completed his post graduate training in General Medicine (DNB) in 2007 and subsequently moved to Australia to pursue further research and training in Geriatrics. He successfully completed his training in Geriatric medicine in 2017 and was awarded with the Fellowship of the Australasian college of physicians in Geriatric Medicine.


Dr Bansal is an active member of the Australasia and New Zealand Society of Geriatric Medicine (ANZSGM), World Stroke Society(WSO), International Movement Disorders Society (MDS) and MDSANZ (Movement Disorder society of Australasia and New Zealand).


Dr Bansal is available for consultations twice a week in the Robina Private Specialist Clinics and has admitting rights to the Robina Private Hospital. He also visits Helix Health Specialist Centre, Labrador for Consultations once a week.
